I would very much like to invite you to take part in this study. Before you decide, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please take as much time as you need to read the following information carefully. You can discuss it with others if you wish. Please feel free to contact me, if there is anything that is not clear, or if you would need more information on the study before deciding to participate.

The purpose of this study

The aim of this research is to contribute to existing research investigating the relationship between personality traits and job satisfaction across occupational types. It will show whether or not if certain occupations attract specific personality traits and will identify if individuals are satisfied within their jobs and if personality is a factor.

Why you have been chosen

You have been invited to participate because you are currently full time or part time employed.

Do you have to take part?

No. It is completely your decision whether to participate or not in this study. If you decide to participate in this research study, please read and then sign the informed consent document. A decision to withdraw will not affect the results in any way. You will be offered the chance to have a brief report of the findings, so that you can see how the data has been used.

What you have to do

By choosing to complete the questionnaire you give consent to be a part of the study, however if you wish to withdraw from the study at any point, you are free to contact via email including your unique reference that you can find just before completing the survey. If you decide to participate you will be asked to complete a 15-minute online survey. Questions will be comprised of demographic questions, occupational questions, personality statements and job satisfaction statements.

Will your taking part in this study be kept confidential?

Yes. All the information collected during this research study will be kept strictly confidential. No names or identifiable information will be collected, and all collected data will be securely stored.

What will happen to the results of the study?

The information collected will be analysed, written up and included in my research dissertation. Potential dissemination to be included only if the supervisor has evidence why this study is likely to be published.
